How to Download Your Own Viewing Choices

1. Go to http://www.utorrent.com/download.php and get a fantastic free bit torrent manager called Utorrent and download the freeware tiny powerful programs which will only take five minutes.

2. Open downloaded file, and install. It is a clever program, that will sit in the background and automatically start when you choose to download a ‘utorrent’ file.

3. If you have a limited plan, that has time and download limits, make sure to check your amounts ($100 plan = 200GB) To set the scheduler in the utorrent ‘options’ then ‘preferences’ and ‘scheduler’ and select the time you want the program to automatically start and stop downloading, this way it will downloading off peak while you are asleep – groovy!

4. Now you have the software technology (yes, that easy!) it’s the fun part of choosing what you want to watch. The most available files are newest release, as the whole bit torrent system works on sharing files with others, and the new stuff is the most popular and available. If there are lots of people ‘seeding’ then you can get an episode in a few hours, same as a movie.

6. Make sure to select ‘English’ filter when you get the list of files available for the program you are searching, other wise it can be in other languages!

7. Only select files with full green health status, when you click on the file title, it will take you to the window for that file to download, before you click on the file name to activate download, read the comments below the file, it will tell you if it is a fake, or dodgey, other users will feedback. Pay attention to comments, you will pick genuine consensus.

8. If OK, click on title and then a secondary window will appear, choose ‘open with’ utorrent as 'default' it will automatically add the file to its list and start downloading.

9. Once in your utorrent program list, you can view the progress of your downloads, change their order, speed them up, choose to share (seed) them or remove once downloaded. If you have one that you want to hurry up, simply ‘stop’ the others so you aren’t dividing your bandwidth.

10. When the file has finished downloading, make sure to save them in a designated folder, which you ‘backup’ regularly onto DVD’s, so you can view, and don’t loose the files if a meltdown happens. Choose in your utorrent preferences to download files directly into that folder.

11. Back up your downloaded files onto DVD’s, up to 22 episodes can fit on one, as they are in DIVX format, nero and other burning programs do this automatically if you make a 'data' DVD disc. I also back them up on external drives too, but a DVD is the only way to ensure you cant loose it.

12. The cheapest players on the market play DIVX, at the moment www.ezydvd.com.au is selling excellent DVD players for $40 which are specifically DIVX & multi region discs, jpeg, MP3 etc etc Most players have USB slots too, so you can drag your tiny DivX files off the computer, into the flash drive and plug into your player to watch on TV - yay!

13. If you don’t wish to watch on TV, you can play on your computer with VLC media player, another free shareware program http://www.videolan.org/

14. VLC media player, is a brilliant freeware media player, which is an excellent DIVX decompressor, I have never come across a file that VLC couldn't play!!

15. Bob’s you Uncle (yes he is!) You are a liberated fan, free to enjoy advert free, at your timing.

16. Check details of your plan, often larger plans work out much cheaper, as they don’t have exceeded limits charges, which are where the service providers make their money. Our plan is 80GB per month, unlimited down and upload, and on the fastest speed we can get in our area, downloading nonstop on 3 computers, never come close to our cap, for $80 a month.

Ensure your virus software is up to date, and allow its firewall to accept ‘utorrent’, if working through a router, and the IP is changed due to techno mages playing LAN, you can add your own IP through your virtual server (router online home page) and designate your IP utorrent there. www.portforward.com will tell you everything!
